My fellow selector and good friend Michael Nutt told me to have a look at the OB Website and in particular the Irish Cup Winners booklet and I have to say even now it still makes me smile when I recall the final at Jordanstown. Perhaps I could have been playing for my club that day away to Ballymoney but with my uncle John being a former president and my aunt Eileen still involved in the club and not to mention that special guy called Digger! I was never going to be anywhere else only the final. I have to say it was nearly as good as playing watching that day such a tremendous group of players who showed remarkable camaraderie and spirit to lift the blue riband trophy. It will live long in the memory.
